Are you feeling overwhelmed or out of control? Does the thought of all the things you have to do leave you feeling hopeless and unsure where to start? Well, it sounds like you need a to-do list. A to=do list will keep you on track, and give you a daily feeling of accomplishment. The thought of making a to-do list may seem as overwhelming as the tasks at hand. Fortunately, there are some simple tips to get you started on a productive day.

End your day the way you start it: Take 30 minutes before you go to bed and when you wake up. Make it part of your routine. I also suggest that you keep a small notebook with you to write down things that come to you during the day.

Pick a list any list: Any format is good to pick the one that is most comfortable for you. A simple piece of paper, a planner, on your smartphone. Etc…

Be Real: Make sure that your list is only one page don’t make your daily to=do hard to accomplish

Be Organized: Number tasks and time stamp this list, this will assist you and make sure the most important things are done first and on time.

Know Yourself: Find out when you’re most productive times is. Try to finish your hardest task around that time.

Make it an appointment: When making a timed list don’t forget to schedule time for breaks and time for family and friends. You don't want to get overwhelmed.

Don’t Worry: If there are tasks that you didn’t finish it's okay just add them to tomorrow's list. This is why you should do the most important first. Also, figure out why you didn’t finish and try to avoid or make room for those reasons in the future.

Where will you be in 5yrs: You should also keep a running list of long-term goals and tasks that you want to accomplish. This list should be checked weekly to ensure you are going in the right direction.
